This freezer is excellent. It has a lot of room and storage. I like that it has many racks for different sizes. The temperature settings are great also. It fits perfectly in our spare room. I highly recommend this product.

This is a very good freezer. It was actually set up in my garage, but I plugged it in and it didn™™t take too long to get things frozen. It hugs the wall fairly close. And does a good job. My only complaint is it could have come with at least one more shelf. The shelves provided are great, but there is plenty of room for one more.

We bought the freezer in late May, it was not delivered until late June. There were other cheaper versions, but we prefer Maytag since we™™ve also had their washers and dryers. So far, we are very happy with this freezer. Plenty of storage space, soft door closing and it™™s very quiet. The best warranty compared to others - 10-yr warranty for the compressor. Hopefully we won™™t ever have to use it. Highly recommend it!

I've only had the freezer for a week, but so far so good. It's quiet, cooled down quickly after install and according to my little thermometer it's been maintaining 0 degrees. Storage space is excellent and after coming from a chest freezer, it's so nice to be able to find what I'm looking for!

We have had a chest freezer for 45 years and when it started to get stalactites we decided to get an upright freezer. Love the accessibility and the way it freezes. No need for a cutter ice cream scooper that hurts my hands. Thankful to have a Maytag which has always been a reputable company for appliances. Thank you!

Bought this a little while ago. Works well, very pleased with the design and quality. My only complaint is that the bottom doesn't have a drawer, but on the bright side it likely helps improves airflow. Love that it was built in Ohio and the 10 year parts compressor warranty.

After purchasing a Maytag 20 cu. ft. freezer and moving it to my basement I proceeded to remove the shipping skid. I discovered 1 of the 4 clips holding the cooling coil was installed improperly damaging the coil. I took the freezer back for a replacement 16 cu. ft model over a week later as another 20 still was not available. 4 of the 6 "16s" in stock had the same improperly installed clips. Manufacturing quality control appears to be a very low priority. I did not save any pictures of the damage once I took possession of the smaller freezer.

Ordered it online. Wish I hadn't. Much smaller than expected. Vents in center of back wall make stacking items difficult. Bottom "drawer" is small due to what I guess is motor or something behind it at very bottom. Things won't stay in there. None of this was shown in pictures. Our freezer died suddenly and none were in stock at local store so ordering was our best option, I thought.

I purchased this particular model because of the simplicity as well as the brand name. For the same price I could have gotten the model with computerized features, e.g., digital touch screen. I didn™™t need those features and was happy to find one that I wouldn™™t have to worry about teaching other family members to use, nor worry about high-tech failures.

We have been using it for about two weeks now and everything is great! When we first plugged it in, it only took 3 hours to get cold. It runs very quietly and we like that it has a light inside. We wish it had an indicator light outside so we could make sure it™™s running without having to open the door. So far so good

I've had this freezer for about 6 weeks now and it's been great. The shelving is ample and it's easy to keep things organized. I love that it's an upright model, so items don't get "lost" in the bottom (which seems to happen to me with chest freezers!!)
It also runs very quietly, which is nice.

I am a mechanically- and analytically-inclined woman. This is a new appliance for me but I currently own 3 other Maytag appliances that are 25+ years old and still working well. So far, the freezer is working well. However, I do have 2 issues that happened after it was delivered.
First, I needed to adjust the location and the freezer immediately went out of balance. This happened way too easily. It could be an issue with the product, or an issue with how the deliverymen did the initial balancing.
Second, the instruction manual delivered with the freezer is lacking (and is the same version I found on the Maytag website):
1) When trying to re-balance the freezer, I tried 2 different sizes of Phillips head screwdrivers and neither worked; therefore, I stopped trying for fear of stripping the heads. The instruction manual delivered with the freezer did not provide a clue as to the best size screwdriver to use.
2) In considering whether the door should open as delivered or be switched to open from the other side, the manual does not provide the best method to remove the cover of the top hinge assembly. The manual clues one in by instructing that a 2" putty knife is one of the tools needed. It does not, however, advise whether to pry the top off from the front, the back or from either side (alone or prying from both sides), Also, what preventative measures should be used to protect the surface from any slips with the putty knife?
3) The manual does instruct to be sure there is adequate ventilation and nothing should be put on the top. One can assume heavy or other objects that can prevent heat from releasing through the top should not be placed there. What about light things such as a towel or other light cloth to prevent dust collection directly on the freezer? I do this so I do not have to climb to reach the top.

We bought this a week ago for putting game meat in after my husband got an elk. It works well and the controls are super easy to operate. Everything was frozen solid quickly. It only comes with two shelves the full width of the freezer and a smaller one on the bottom to cover the lower bin. This doesn't allow for a lot of organization for different meat cuts. It would be nice if it came with one more large shelf to allow for this and not have so much wasted space and meat piled up super high on one shelf. I checked the Maytag website and 1 additional shelf was over $150. So that was dissapointing. If I knew this was going to be an issue, I would have just ordered a bigger freezer even though this one is plenty big for our needs. Just not enough shelves to make it as useful as it could be.
